Join us on February 17, 2022, at 7:00pm for a look into how Hollywood’s dramatization is Knoxville’s reality. Our Panel will be hosted at the historic Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville. Our diverse set of panelists will give unique insights into how the pandemic started in our own backyard.
Panelists include:
Beth Macy, Author of National Bestseller Dopesick
Dr. Stephen Loyd, East Tennessee Physician portrayed in Dopesick.
Director David Rausch, TBI (Former Knoxville Chief of Police)
John Brownlee, former US Attorney who prosecuted the Purdue Pharma case
Robert DeLuca, A corporate licensed pharmacist with expertise in Medication Assisted Therapies used to treat Opioid Use Disorder.
This panel will be moderated by Lori Tucker of WATE.
All proceeds from this event will benefit The Gateway, Knoxville’s first Community Recovery Center opening in downtown Knoxville in Spring 2022. The Gateway will connect individuals and families to social and community resources, serve those who wish to uncover their unique path to long-term sustainable recovery, and give people the opportunity to give back to others as they strengthen their own recovery.
