ABN Nonprofit Accounting Cohort on Zoom

Many nonprofit staff and leaders find themselves thrust into accounting roles. In this six week cohort, you'll learn the essentials of nonprofit accounting including reading financial statements, understanding jargon, accounting rules, budgeting, and cash flow. You'll also review internal controls and how to put them in place in a nonprofit with limited resources.

Bio:

Bridget Miller has worked in the accounting field for 14 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management, a B.S. in Health Care Services and an A.S. in Mathematics. She began her accounting career working for a small public accounting firm in Sevierville, TN, and passed her CPA exam while working there. She has been a CPA since 2009 and her public accounting experience gave her a diverse introduction to many industries and accounting challenges. She then worked as a controller and was quickly promoted to CFO of a critical access hospital in western Nebraska for 4 years. Finally, she settled back in East Tennessee and is the VP of Finance for Emory Valley Center, a non-profit in Oak Ridge with a $15MM budget and 300+ employees that serves over 120 individuals with disabilities in the East Tennessee area. She oversees the financial department including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Client Financial Services, IT and HUD.
