This award goes to one seasoned leader who impacts others, especially young professionals, in the community. It is the highest honor awarded by the Young Professionals of Knoxville. Sharon Couch

Sharon Couch is a two-time U.S. Olympian and one of the most decorated female student-athletes in the history of North Carolina. Couch represented the United States at the 1992 Olympic Games in the long jump and at the 2000 Sydney Olympiad in the 100-meter hurdles. A five-time All-American, she qualified for eight NCAA Championship meets. Couch previously served as the assistant track & field coach for UT’s women springs and hurdles, where she produced a total of eight All-Americans. She currently serves as the coordinator of student life and diversity programs at the Herbert College of Agriculture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Through her role, she supports 30+ student organizations, plans special events, manages the living learning community, teaches courses, serves as an advisor for minorities, and leads minority recruitment initiatives.
