Secretary

Content Development Specialist, EVERSANA

Who or what inspires you?

As a writer and storyteller, I'm always inspired by people who are brave enough to share their own stories and people who make it a priority to share stories of their communities. I especially enjoy reading feature stories or non-fiction memoirs. I'm also inspired by other young professionals who are making an impact through their work or community service. People who can make a big difference in small corners of the world are amazing.

How do you think YPK contributes to our community?

YPK is a community all in its own. While the organization prioritizes community service activities locally, I think it's equally as important that YPK offers professional and social opportunities for diverse members from varied industries who share the common mission of connecting and giving back to the community where they live. One of the greatest ways YPK contributes to the community is by inspiring the people willing to improve our Knoxville and providing young professionals with the connections to make change possible.

What has been your favorite (or most memorable) experience with YPK?

Thanks to YPK, I have always been able to explore new, exciting places in Knoxville (well, new to me!) One of my favorite experiences was listening to Mayor Madeline Rogero speak to a packed room of YPK members in a loft/rooftop bar. Not only was the venue a best kept secret, but everyone in the room hung onto every word of Mayor Rogero's speech, which focused on being involved in our community and working together to make a difference. It was an evening to remember, and this is only one of many one-of-a-kind experiences I've had by being a member of YPK.

What are you currently reading, watching, or listening to?

Reading: Up in the Old Hotel by Joseph Mitchell and My Very Good, Very Bad Dog by Chicken Soup for the Soul Watching: Modern Family and re-watching Outlander Listening to: Spark and Fire podcast, Women Who Travel Podcast, and pretty much any folk/rock/indie music!

When you're not at work, where can people find you?

If my boyfriend Matt and I aren't at home spoiling our hound dog Moe, you can find us exploring the Smokies, kayaking, fishing, visiting with family and friends, or eating from our favorite Mexican restaurant! I'm also usually off writing stories about about my community.
