Who is a leader you admire?

God who is the head of my life. God leads and directs my every step, that’s why I’m the person I am today. There is no better leader than Christ.

I also admire all the great people at Mt. Zion Baptist church. We have a great church family that happens to be some of the smartest, dedicated people in Knoxville. They have touched my life in so many ways. I look to them and say to myself I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength!

How has YPK impacted you?

YPK has inspired me with leadership training, a great network, professional development, and great friends!

When you're not at work where can people find you?

When I'm not at work I'm you can find me at school, church, volunteering, getting my children ready for graduation, being a mom! I'm a busy bee 🐝 and never miss a beat! I'm everywhere all the time! I'm a getter done girl!

Drew Sims, Social Co-Chair

Drew Sims was born in Nashville, but is proud to call Knoxville home.  Drew graduated from the University of Tennessee with his B.A. and M.S. degrees and remained in Knoxville after graduation.  During his free time you can find him enjoying being a new dad to Caroline, playing golf, working in his yard, and enjoying the roller coaster ride of being a Vol fan.

What has been your favorite experience with YPK?

My favorite experience with YPK has been the opportunity to visit local businesses and interact one on one with the dynamic leaders that make such a positive impact on our community.  YPK provides access to men and women that are leading their organizations to reach new heights. No other organization in town offers the experiences and access to community leaders that YPK does.

What do you love about Knoxville?

I am proud to call Knoxville home because it is a wonderful place to grow personally and professionally.  It is a great place to go to school, develop a career track, and enjoy the sporting events and outdoors.  We are also a short drive to several other big cities and fun places to take day trips to explore new towns.

When you're not at work where can people find you?

When I am not at work, I am enjoying spending time with my beautiful wife and our baby girl. I love sports and am always following my teams depending on the season.   I love being active outside working in my yard, playing golf, grilling, and attending all YPK events.
