Who is a leader you admire?

I really admire Mintha Roach, President and CEO of the Knoxville Utilities Board, because of the impact she's been able to make in our community. She took a chance on getting me connected with the United Way of Greater Knoxville, which fueled my passion and desire to get involved in the community through a multitude of ways. Her initial support is one of the reasons I'm involved in YPK today!

How do you think Young Professionals of Knoxville contributes to our community?

It is evident in my interactions with all current leaders in our community that young professionals are the future. YPK provides the platform we need to continue to make Knoxville a great place to live. Whether it's giving members access to behind the scenes tours with local companies, exposing folks to non-profit organizations and how to be involved, or making a new friend, there's really something our organization can provide for everyone.

What has been your favorite memory with YPK?

My favorite YPK event has been the General Membership Meeting at Zoo Knoxville. How cool is it to meet in an exhibit where you can stare at Tigers followed by a night safari by an awesome guide!

What are you currently reading, watching, and listening to?

I'm reading Start with Why by Simon Sinek, listening to Why Would You Go There which is a podcast created by two of my coworkers, and watching Somebody Feel Phil on Netflix.

When you're not at work where can people find you?

When I'm not at work, you could find me at the YMCA a few mornings in a boot camp or spin class, checking out one of the newest restaurants, or at a friend's house playing board games.
