Volunteer with YPK and the Tennessee RiverLine for Ijams Nature Center's 2023 River Rescue! This event brings hundreds of volunteers to the water to remove trash at sites along the Tennessee River and its tributaries. Unique to River Rescue sites, we will be using kayaks to access the shorelines of Third Creek, adjacent to the UTK Gardens.

All kayaks and safety equipment will be provided -- all you need are closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing you're okay with getting dirty!

Parking is available at the UTK Gardens (2518 Jacob Dr, Knoxville, TN 37996) in the C4 lot.

***Please note that all participants should be comfortable operating a one or two-person kayak for the duration of this event. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and clothes you're okay with getting dirty. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for safety and setup.***

In addition to registering through the YPK website, please also complete this waiver prior to the event.

• 10:00 AM - Safety and kayaking demonstration

• Cleanup until 1:00 pm
