Celebrate Socktober with YPK with Latin-style dancing! HaCha Latin Dance Company will be providing a free one-hour dance lessons to YPK members at Double S Wine Bar, followed by an open happy hour.
The happy hour will begin at 7:30pm, with drinks available to purchase. It is open to both members and non-members.
To partake in our Socktober drive, we ask that attendees bring new pairs of men’s and women’s socks in adult sizing. Diabetic socks are also gladly accepted. A wish list of sock styles is available here.
About Socktober
This year, throughout the month of October, Young Professionals of Knoxville will be collecting socks for Knoxville area's homeless. Attendees are encouraged to bring sock donations to the event. These donations, combined with other sock donations received throughout the month, will go to Knox Area Rescue Ministries for distribution.
YPK will be collecting sock donations the entire month of October. If you are unable to attend our Socktober Happy Hour event, please contact the Community Outreach committee for alternate sock drop off arrangements if needed.
Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for dancing. Dancing lesson is open to members only. Members and non-members are both invited to attend the happy hour beginning at 7:30, following the dance lesson.

Event Health & Safety Protocols
We look forward to celebrating Socktober in a way that is safe for our members, guests, and the greater Knoxville community. We ask that all attendees follow our public health and safety protocols, outlined below, so we can continue to offer in-person events and opportunities.
Attendees must provide a printed or digital copy of a verified negative COVID-19 test result matching the attendee registration and administered within 5 days of the event OR a valid COVID-19 vaccination record matching the attendee registration information, demonstrating complete vaccination at least two weeks prior to the day of the event. Documentation can be in the form of a photo of the card on a mobile phone, a physical photocopy, or the original card.
Masks* must be worn at all times unless actively eating and/or drinking.
If you are unwilling or unable to follow the public health and safety protocols, we kindly ask you do not register for or attend the event. Please reach out to outreach@ypknox.com if you have already registered and you are unwilling or unable to follow these event public health and safety protocols.
