Who or what inspires you?

I'm inspired by those that have climbed obstacles and remember to bring someone on the climb with them, those who take the time to make others feel seen and heard, and those who aren't afraid of making hard choices.

How do you think YPK contributes to our community?

Young Professionals of Knoxville connects local movers and shakers to engage in the development of themselves and their peers and motivates them to give their time and resources to local causes that inspire them. The proof of YPK's contribution to the Knoxville-area lies in our membership. We have distinguished members working in a wide variety of professions, all of whom are intentional in their desire to connect, develop, and serve our community.

What has been your favorite (or most memorable) experience with YPK?

The best experience I've had with YPK so far has been the engaging and useful virtual events we were able to have in 2020. Many organizations had difficulty transitioning from strictly in-person events to strictly virtual events, but YPK rose to the challenge. Every time I logged into a YPK virtual event last year, I was encouraged and informed, from the social events to professional development events.

What are you currently reading, watching, or listening to?

I'm a big Audible user (I think my 2020 recap showed that I had listened to around 1100 hours of books), so I listen to everything. I'm currently working my way through Stephen King's novels. I probably spend most of my TV time watching The West Wing and any historical show or documentary available.

When you're not at work, where can people find you?

I tend to spend my free time experiencing all that downtown offers - the restaurant, craft cocktail bars, and shops. Since moving back to Knoxville in 2018, I've lived downtown, and I've loved it. If I happen to be away from my neighborhood, I tend to be volunteering or planning an event.
