Young Professionals of Knoxville hosted its first event of the year on January 14—Choose Your Trivia!

Choose Your Trivia Format

Upon registering, participants chose from one of four categories of trivia. Each category had a unique Kahoot quiz and a corresponding gift card for the winner. Categories and prize winners were:

• Movies: Lauren Hartmann, $25 Regal Gift Card

• Knoxville: Grace Bennett, $25 Café 4 Gift Card

• Harry Potter: Brittney Dessinger, $25 Amazon Gift Card

• 90s/00s Music: Rachel Amity Brown, $25 iTunes Gift Card

Pre-Trivia Festivities

In typical Zoom fashion, the few dozen attendees introduced themselves to the group before being broken into two breakout rooms. Each room brainstormed ideas for new YPK events (virtual and in-person).

The Main Event

After brainstorming in breakout groups, the groups’ facilitators took their category participants through a 20-question Kahoot they created for the event. When all were completed, winners were announced and announcements about future YPK events were made. 

What’s Next For YPK Social Events

As the pandemic continues, it’s hard to predict when we will be able to transition back to in-person events. One thing is for sure – everyone has chronic Zoom fatigue by now. Despite this, YPK’s Social Chair and Co-Chair are intent on creating engaging and fruitful opportunities for YPK members and potential members to connect virtually over the next few months. Notably, February’s event, scheduled for Tuesday, February 16, will be a Mardi-Gras-themed party that participants host for themselves on their couches!  You can register for the Virtual Mardi-Gras Social by clicking here.
