Young Professionals of Knoxville

At the YPK General Membership Meeting on January 12, YPK members heard from Bill Schmidt, President of Pegasus Sports Marketing. He spoke about his life and being an Olympic javelin thrower, working for the 1982 World’s Fair, working for the LA Olympics, his time at Gatorade and Oakley and surviving cancer. 

YPK members also elected new 2010 officers and reviewed the organization's budget. You can see the full YPK executive commitee here and see the the YPK budget, income and expenses here.

New member applcations and renewals shoudl also be submitted by March 15, 2010 and dues should be paid at the May general membership meeting. We will have the nomination and renewal forms online soon.

A few upcoming events were also announced, including:

• February 2 - Professional Development committee meeting, 12-1 p.m. at Aubrey's Papermill 
• February 4 - First Thursday Happy Hour at Bonefish Grill on Bearden Hill
  
• February 11 - Professional Development event, tour of Clayton Center for the Arts, Time TBD
• February 22 - Impact 3 Kick-Off, 6-8 p.m. at Rita's Italian Ice
  
• March 4 - First Thursday Happy Hour at Sunspot on Cumberland Avenue
• April 23 - Dogwood Mile event in downtown Knoxville
