Event Name: American Cancer Society Relay for Life - YPK team needed

Event Date: June 20th & 21st

Location: World’s Fair Park

Details: A team consists of 10 to 15 members. Each member will get a free t-shirt for every $100 raised for ACS.

Kiwanis Fresh Air Camp Supply Drive

The Kiwanis Fresh Air Camp Supply Drive (www.freshaircamp.com) needs the help of YPK members to collect supplies and/or donate their time for their 2008 summer day camp, which reaches 142 East Tennessee children and 50 special needs children. YPK members can help by a financial contribution or by donating some of the supplies needed for camp. Supplies may be brought to any YPK meeting and include:

Opportunites to Serve

YPK will have a presence in the 2008 Knoxville Marathon on March 30. If you’re already training for the full or the half-marathon, keep up the hard work! If not, you’ll still have a chance to be a part of the biggest race in town. More information is on the way about volunteer opportunities associated with the marathon.

Help advance literacy by assisting the Friends of the Library with their Used Book Sale. They need volunteers to help move books in preparation the sale. The dates for moving the books are February 28th at 1 pm and February 29th at 9 am. Volunteers will meet at Lawson McGhee Library (500 West Church Avenue). The books will be loaded onto a truck and unloaded at the old Convention Center. This typically takes 1 to 2 hours. If you are interested, please contact Stephen Martin at stephentrmartin@gmail.com.
