All YPK members are encouraged to attend the quarterly YPK General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, January 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Parkside Center, which was formerly home to Goody's national headquarters.

In addition to electing the new officers for 2010, YPK members will also have the chance to hear guest speaker Bill Schmidt, president of Pegasus Sports Marketing, as he discusses his experiences and unparalleled success in the business side of sports. In addition to his role at Pegasus Sports Marketing, Schmidt has served in a variety of positions including: - Adjunct Professor in the Department of Exercise, Sport and Leisure Studies The University of Tennessee - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Oakley Inc., - Vice President of Worldwide Sports Marketing at Gatorade, - Vice President of Sports at the Los Angeles Olympics, - Director of Development for Stokely Van Camp, - Director of Sports at the 1982 World's Fair Knoxville

Schmidt was named by the Sporting News as one of "The Most 100 Powerful People in Sports" in 1996 and 1998 and was an Olympic Bronze Medalist in Javelin Throw in 1972.
